NY chicken lover!!!!

Sam I am, came and picked up the trio of Dels.

That means I have seven plus an EE to go. Anyone want to make an offer? I will be posting to CL. Straight run though the Dels can be xesed now. They all have to go, before I leave.

I understand it too. I have been laying out my pens, planning buildings, and even feeding in ways to work around pain. My daughter heads out again in May, and I will have lost my extra help. I look at the birds as physical therapy. Unless I'm really sick, I drag myself out to them. I can't sling feed bags around like I used to though... That's what the husband is for!

Me too, and the goats :) luckily I have a very understanding crew and on bad days they don't mind waiting to eat till around noon :) I was in a very bad car accident almost 8 years ago and had to relearn how to do some things differently to reduce pain

Congrats on the new flock! Just so you know, you'll probably have to get six more - as silly as it is, NY law says you can't sell less than six chicks at a time.

Hey folks. I haven't been on here in forever.

I figured I'd check here on a lark and see if I might get a bit lucky.

I am looking for light brahma and standard cochin chicks. Preferably chicks that have just hatched, as I just hatched yesterday and would prefer to integrate chicks of the same age. I had forgotten that I had wanted to add a few of these to my flock this year and by the time I went checking the hatcheries, they were sold out.

Anybody reasonably close to Yates County that might, just maybe, have some chicks?

We all thought you had fallen off the face of the earth! Hope all is well - Natureberry farm has some cochins, not sure what type or when they are due in...

I'm new to BYC, great to see so many NY chicken lovers. I live in Penn Yan, NY (Keuka Lake/Finger Lakes Region).
This is only my second year having chickens. This winter was so awful, the snow drifts this winter were a beast running from 3 to 4 feet high.
I decided to move my existing coop and am going to add onto it. I'm planning to add a run as well.

Welcome neighbor! I live in the metropolis of Potter!

We're practically next door - what chickens do you have?
