True, but funny.

Hello NewYorkers.

I'm a close neighbor in Richmond, MA (right on the NY border and about 30 minutes from Albany)

I'm looking to purchase some fertile, purebred, eggs - SOON.

We currently have two broodies and I cannot break them.

My flock is 16 chickens and I hatched out 10 crossbreds under a broody this spring. Don't want more crossbreds since they are more difficult to re-home.

If anybody can help out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

I'm in Canaan, just down the hill from you, and have pure bred Sumatra's. I have a lot of broody's right now, but have a few girls still laying eggs. I'd be happy to collect 6 to 12 eggs for you. It may take a few days..... with so many broody's.

I would love to take you up on it but things will be busy here and I hate to fire up the incu this late in the year. Trylin has broodies and I need some colored egg layers. I only have two. I have EE's but they're laying light beige. Ugh! I have a lavender Roo but he's not fathered any chicks so far. My Del does it all. I do plan to put the Lavender with the girls separate as soon as I can get the coop done. You might want to make a note of it and get back to me come spring time. PM trylin and tell her I said to come and get those eggs.

Aren't these just the cutest chicks in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD? (any clue what breed they are? Cuz I am clueless in that regard)

This little guy fits through the hole in the chicken wire. And I don't mean a gap...I mean the actual hole in the intact wire.

All three of them. They finally stood still for a second, but just ONE second.

Momma Hen and her brood. She is the Sweetest chicken.

Now I want another broody hen. This is soooo sweet.

The chicks are teeny tiny and the momma doesn't seem to protect them well. Another of the D'uccles got in the area they are segregated in and picked up one of the chicks by it's wing and it was really peeping loud and the momma did nothing about it. I had to intercede.
