No, only Ameraucanas have a "pea comb" that has 3 rows of "bumps"

Marans have a single comb. I don't know about Old English.

So it seems you have Ameraucanas. And if they are from Pips & peeps, then they are Ameraucanas for sure.

Lol, you serious? I would so take you up on that. Only one problem. the distance. If you are serious, are you coming up to the Plattsburgh area anytime soon?

Ok. Don't laugh. Please. But I will be in Plattsburgh on Friday. Seriously. Minor problem is I won't be LEAVING until Sunday and I don't think they would let me keep a rooster in the hotel room.

If you would like to talk about the possiblities... meaning you could take the rooster from me on Friday and give me your rooster on Sunday, PM me and we'll exchange phone numbers and see if we can make it work.

And this rooster is really big for a silkie roo....you might be able to breed him to a large hen and be the one that actually achieves breeding a Large Fowl Silkie. (which I would love, cuz I am soooo tired of bantam eggs and cracking 3 for every ONE egg the reciepe calls for.)

Cass I pmed you I am 15 min south of plattsburgh could house the roo if it was in its own cage for the weekend.

Is this different than the 4H shows? I know they do that. What exactly is a chicken show? Probably a silly question but can chickens have papers? If not how would they compete. This sounds like a great idea, I am going to research this a bit. My son would love to show a chicken in the fair:)

I do have Amerucanas...however I also have Marans or OEer with the same comb style....2 of them and I only wanted one....so I was wondering if it indicated the same thing in those breeds as it does in Amerucanas. I really don't want to wait until they crow to find out, cuz they are quick little devils and I won't be able to catch them for much longer.

Have you tried putting a space after your copy and paste of the photo ID. It appears you are doing it right except that the words are too close to the copy and paste.

Yes its different than 4-H. The one at the franklin county fair in malone is open to everyone, all ages. and its judged by the apa and aba standards like a regular poultry show. SO chickens LF, bantams, turkeys, peafowl, ducks, geese, and pheasants, guineas, and other poultry like pigeons quail, etc did i leave something out??? there are over 1000 entries at this show.
they need to be tested and found clean for pullorium (i always spell it wrong), dont need pedigrees or anything. There is a website that the fair has its catalog on it Franklin county fair, malone, ny
