You could give her a bath ..and let her spend the night inside ..
she would be dry & you could let her out the next day ..
Watch out for pecking ...that red is a bullseye for other chickens

she will be getting a very pampered day tomorrow then. She looks pathetic, poor baby. She is doing great though, no more bleeding at all.

it looks like a place I'm going to go investigate. I love local places like that. I grew up in farm country so field to plate is how I grew up.

Her chickens may be slackers right now. I know mine are. I have been lucky if I get a dozen a day. They picked up for a time after their molt and now have dropped production again.

People make me crazy. I posted a breeding trio of ayam cemanis on craigslist. I asked $300 for them, only because the rooster has red in his wattles. These are adult six month old birds that are about to start laying, and I'm charging half of what the going price is for chicks on them.

I get an email this morning asking if they are available, and how old they are, which was stated in the ad, so they clearly didn't read it very well. Then the person also has the gall to ask if I would take $150 for them! That's less than the price of one chick. I couldn't believe it.

In other news, I ordered Lacie's boyfriend today! A roman tufted gander, same breed as her. He will be shipping with a female cayuga duck and a female fawn and white runner, who will be Hershey's girlfriends when they get older. I can't wait until they get here. Goslings hands down are the sweetest, cutest babies.
