NY chicken lover!!!!

I found her. The person w lavender Americanas is @lcvedder but she hasn't been on in a while. A pm might get her attention. Sounds like she has some really nice birds. She's in my neck of the woods. IMHO it's well worth a couple hour drive for good hatching eggs. But I don't mind road trips, so grain of salt.

There was "Chickenstalker" in PA. I got my roo from her, but traded him to someone. I had two and gave one away. I now only have the EE/Amer hens from his line. Lavender and Blue. I kept a black roo that is nice but has a touch of red feathers.

Anyhow I'm not sure how far down into PA Chickenstalker is. There is also Jody in PA who has lavender Araucanas. Hinkjc farms. She has a web site. Oh I think she has lavender Orpingtons too.

Quick story.

My granddaughter wrote a book. She's 5!

dead birds

Turkey

She traced her hand and made it look like birds. Except they're dead. She even X'd out one eye.

I have no idea where she got the idea for her picture book but she does take after my side of the family.

Listen to a favorite song of mine. "Dead Skunk" in the middle of the road. Louden Wainwright.

Anybody driving through/by Penn Yan/Benton that is going to Chicken stock? Perhaps we could arrange something.

Also, would anybody be interested in silver partridge silkie/sebright cross eggs or chicks? The ones I hatched last year turned into real pretty birds. My hen inherited the silkie broodiness and is always trying to hatch something, lol.

Last question, on a silkie hen, is a large comb (i forget what kind they call it, the kind that stands up) a fault? I'm assuming so...aren't they supposed to have rose combs? One of the TSC hens I got last year has an erect comb. The other one is pretty good.

I will be driving from Middlesex, so I can pick you up. I will have a truck, not expecting to take too much so should have room for some birds or whatever.

That sounds pretty, I might be depending on how my chicken situation works itself out :)

And yes, a single comb is a fault. They should have walnut combs.

Chickenstalker actually lives in binghamton.

Featherz-I have a NN OE roo over frizzle NN OE and frizzle hens. I will have eggs this spring.

Sorry for everyone who has had tough times and losses.
