NY chicken lover!!!!

Rancher, I'm sorry you've had a tough day, I hope tomorrow is better!
My parents are nearing retirement age- I have been teasing them about getting chickens, but they don't want to be tied down to more pets. They want to be able to travel too!!

Well if they can get you to care for them while they're gone that would be nice. I used to have someone but it's not so easy now. I want to travel with DW not separate like in the past. Too I missed Florida because of chickens. I don't want to miss Alaska. I should be in TX right now with her.

Of course your parents might not want to get caught up in the disease Chickenitis. I believe the addiction is a real thing.

I don't blame you..I hear Alaska is fantastic! Some of my students were down in Florida for break and returned today with nice little tans...Since I teach for two schools I missed out on Spring break this year...Both had breaks at different weeks and none even near the high school break.

Chickenitis...hoarding...collecting...LOL

Is anyone looking to buy some chicks? I bought some BI/BCM eggs and have 5 chicks that are a week old. They were sold as olive eggers and they all hatched black. I needed blues. So, if you are interested I will sell them all for $20.

I also have some silkies -their Momma is sizzled and I will have some speckled sussex that are not SOP but they come from some serious layers that I can part with.

Gorgeous coop @horsekeeper!!
Fantastic incubator @akaruby!!
I find that when I have projects like that, they always take longer and cost more than I originally plan, lol. I've started doubling all cost and time estimates. I'm obviously not a very efficient builder. Power tools are very helpful tho, especially the cordless ones. Received a new cordless drill, hammer drill, and jigsaw for Christmas a couple years ago. They've been very useful.

Yes, I'm always able to help out when they're away. I want them to have chickens so I can use their property to support my chickenitis! ! :)
