Thanks. That last Roo I lost was a real blow, like one of those "I have no idea how to recover from" sort of losses.
I know, the one I have left is nice, he's not chopped liver, but he is not anywheres CLOSE to what I lost, its like the difference between winning Best in Show and Best of Variety...
I have a young Roo I can save out, but who knows if he'll turn out as nice as his daddy was. I'm going to maybe save a couple extra Roos from this last batch of chicks too and hope they don't get eaten over winter, I hate growing stuff out over the winter!
I decided I was going to just take the checkbook and go buy the darn wire fencing I need to make the one pen secure. Should be all sorts of fun at almost eight months pregnant! My husband was looking at electric fencing online, I dunno if he finally felt bad enough or what, but I am so not holding my breath that he'll actually bother to buy/put it up. I wanted to ask why bother now, that I have either given away the nicest stuff or its dead. Sigh.
I suppose if he gets the fencing up I might see if anyone has some stock at the Crossroads show, I won't be able to go but I have transport back. I could have him shop for me too I guess, I did wonder if there would be lots for sale or not there? I sure wish I could go, talk about your lousy timing! (I'm due Oct 20th, so I can't plan on going anywheres, totally messed up all my fall plans!)
I wish I could afford some Choc Orps! I'd totally split an order of chicks with you, but with all the medical bills from my pregnancy our money is awfully tight! I actually only want them to make Chocolate Ameraucanas, lol How much are they running for those now?
Well try to relax and focus, you've got bigger fish to fry , as they say. Make sure you have a healthy happy baby. K? Chickens can come later.
Perhaps if we could see your set up we might be able to figure something out. I'm sure I missed the posting on who you lost and how. I did go back over all the postings but couldn't find it.
Just have a healthy baby and we'll still be here after and together your chicken friends will help find a solution if we can.
