If anyone wants a mille fleur Barbu D'Uccle bantam rooster, I have 4 boys looking foe some ladies.....

I don't have enough ladies to accommodate another gentleman, they are so great. They are full of antics.

Re- purposing - Still have those plastic feed bags ?
They can be cut down to fit a brooder or nesting box bottom .

I put them in the bottom ..put the bedding over it ...
in the morning pick up the plastic ... the bedding can be dis-guarded ..plastic can be scraped with a turner ...Dried in the sun..
Put back in at night ..with more bedding no fuss....with 4 broodys I wa getting tired of cleaning up their boxes

Well TiTi has released her to babys ..Im not your Mama anymore ..
I have been waiting for this...
the 2 littles are the same age as cutie .


So I put Cutie with the pullet chick at night ...2 nights so far ..she settles down better at night .


Here they are waiting under the table to go to bed ...


When I get in my computer chair she still has to jump up and cuddle ...they were both on my lap tonight ..
The bin goes in my office for the eve
She will play with them all day ...but at night she wants to go inside ..

We had our meat birds processed this week. I was quite satisfied with the results. Out of 40 birds, the smallest was 6 lbs dressed with the largest two both at 8 lbs. The average for the flock was 6.93 lbs.

I was a little disappointed today stopping at Tractor Supply. They had had a great gamebird starter, 30% protein and medicated, which was perfect for my peafowl and the keets and poults were doing well on it too. I just ran out and went to get more and it was all gone. I was disappointed, but I decided I'd just make due with regular gamebird starter. Nope, they're out of that too! So I had to get some meatbird starter that I'd never seen before, not medicated and only 22% protein. I'll only be using that until I can get to the other Tractor Supply to pick up some real gamebird starter.

They were running a sale on animal food 10 % off .probably why it was sold out

So sadly I had 33 in total not make it. The remaining 8 are doing good. They have a 1 week old in with them to show them the ropes. The 1 week old is snuggling up with the day olds.
