NY chicken lover!!!!

Quote:
It could have been a squirrel ...One came in the yard today ...and one of the broody hens that lost the chicks ..Took after it ..
Chased it into the garden ..then I chased it out of the garden & up a tree.
The chicken wire kept the littles in today ..so everyone was accounted for this morn ..
But then one of the 3 musketters was in the big coop this morning..
Must have flew to the top of the chicken wire and squeezed through the reg fencing ..
Probably the double broodys were after him ...

Anyone have a smallish rooster local? @chickengirl15

, woman at work asked if I had a polish roo, I have had two a couple yrs ago... She's looking for a roo that isn't big and isn't going to tear up her hens, but not a bantam, got anything like that you want to get rid of?

No Polish Roos, but I'll have to check as I did have a whole bunch of Roos who were 1/4 bantam Cochin 3/4 large fowl - so they should be smaller & gentle. But most of those I sent to auction, as not very meaty. I have a few that may be applicable, but didn't get the feathered feet, yet look to be smaller than the others.
Did she want a young one or adult? B/c I only have yougins.

Broodies & chicks doing well here, I think ready to integrate with the flock, since the chicks are going over there themselves.

The Spitz chicks are thriving - one looks blue based. Haven't gotten many photos as they're pretty active all day long!

The two broodies sharing chicks.

And there is one more white one with a funky "walnut " comb. The white 2 are leghorn spitzhauben and the red one is a road island red spitzhauben.

Looks like I will have several spitz cockerels available, in blue, black, and possibly splash. They're LF but on the small end of LF.
