Has anyone had any experience with ThePoultryHatchery.com (Clifton Springs)? I did get a few chicks from them last year - a local friend ordered and picked them up. I got some wheaten marans, blr wyandottes, and silkies (I think.....I can't quite remember now...). The birds are healthy now, and very pretty. I don't know anything about breed standards though. Two of the 4 silkies died - both buff silkies, the blue survived.
It seems like they may be an amish farm?

I ordered my first chicks from there in August 2015. The birds did well. The problem I had was trying to get a response from them when I e-mailed them. I tried for two or three weeks to e-mail them to confirm my chicks would be/were ready for pick up and would not get a response. I called them a couple of times and left messages too. It wasn't until I called and left a message about their failure to respond and to cancel my order that they finally responded. It is not an Amish farm. They have a small store with some plants, local food items, and produce. They are nice folks and I was happy with my chicks, but I wasn't satisfied with their communication. I haven't bought any from there since then because I am able to order from my processor at much better prices, so I cannot say if there has been any change in service or quality. My understanding is that they are a no kill hatchery, so if they hatch out more than they sell, they end up raising the chicks themselves. This was important to me when I ordered.

I cannot speak from experience but I am starting my flock this year and plan on picking up from them. They are about 40 mins away from. Seem very knowledgeable and helpful on the phone and have good reviews on google search. I too would love to hear from people who have gone with them.

I have heard mixed reports about them. I think when they were starting out they didn't know what they were doing, but I believe things have improved over the last couple of years. I think they are Mennonite - not sure tho'

Their website said they were only taking phone orders this year. I think they may not be very good with technology.

I live pretty close to them, but haven't gotten chickens from them yet. When I have contacted them, they didn't have what I wanted, when I wanted it. If you are on Facebook/Messenger, they respond pretty quickly to messages. I checked into buying hatching eggs from them once and they told me the minimum order was 3 dozen, so I passed. I think they are trying to target homesteaders and chicken producers. I think they do custom hatches too. I know they have leftovers for sale for pickup sometimes. But you do have to call or message to find out.

It's too bad they only do the 3 dozen hatching eggs. The prices are reasonable, but I definitely do not want 3 dozen hatching eggs. I don't have a big enough incubator!

I was so surprised when they said 3 dozen minimum, that I didn't try very hard to talk them into selling me less. Maybe if I had pursued it? I really don't know their policies, because I haven't been able to access their PDF catalog on their "website".

I've been able to pull up the PDF, but I much prefer the way other hatcheries let you know the availability before you place an order.
