Here's a pic of one of the pumpkins we carved. My girls had fun and so did the chickens.

We had a canada goose show up at work just outside the door headed to the cooler tonight. It spent all shift out there without moving much. I went out and checked it. I'm pretty sure it has a broken leg because it's swollen right above the right foot. I didn't want to leave it to die, so it is now down on my pond with the ducks and I'll have to check on it in the morning. I thought that the company might have had it disposed of to eliminate the risk of contamination getting into the plant being the goose was in a newly constructed and high traffic area. I never expected to end up with a goose.

Funny pumpkin.

Love the site, and understand your concerns. If each of us does what we can to educate the rest of the population maybe we can stop or reduce the damage.

For me , Anyone who thinks Hydro - Fracking is safe you are dead wrong. It is not. Once you inject something into the earth you can NOT filter it back out. I know I've done a research paper on the affects of BTEX on drinking water. There IS NO filtration system that can 100% remove toxins from the water , air or soil. NONE, ZIP, ZILCH.

OP hope you get chickens soon.

Is the goose penned or is it completely loose (free to leave if it wants)? Just wanted to advise-- with respect-- to keep it loose if not.

Loose, being a wild animal I thought that best. I was hoping that being able to get on and off water at will might give the leg time to heal some and give the goose some protection against predators. It isn't putting weight on the bad leg at all.

I tried to tell my sister in law this about her boyfriend but she married him anyhow. They're divorced now. I warned her.

No one ever listens to the old guys,

We listen to you, Rancher. Women don't understand that we are like puppies. If you bring us home and don't train us properly, we may still be lovable, but will are ALSO still going to chew your shoes and pee on the rug.
