I locked out the other hens. I was later than I wanted to get them out because I had to wait for my DH to put up a screen door. The door allows fresh air and lets them get acquainted with the others. The 2nd group were held back a week because someone was going to buy them and it was easier to keep them in the basement. They didn't need a heat lamp. There was only one cold day that I kept the door closed all day to keep them warm.

I have chicks coming out of my ears if anyone is interested! They are all buff orpingtons and BO/redstar crosses. I have 12 right now and another 12 due in about 5 days. Will also have day old khaki and pekins for sale in about 5 days.

Hi Everyone! Anyone up/down my way need a rooster? I'm an hour south of Rochester, hour north of Corning. I have listed my extra roos on craigslist and gotten rid of only one so far. I wish the place where I get my poultry processed was up and running b/c I may have to resort to that soon. My poor hens are really taking a beating! I have a silver laced wyandotte roo, a cuckoo maran mix roo and possibly a barred rock roo. I also have two bantam roosters left. Anyone interested please PM me!
