NY chicken lover!!!!

How is everyone doing with hatches and things? My broody batched out 2 little fuzzybutts on Sunday and I was wondering if they could go outside for a bit this weekend since its supposed to be nice out.

My eggs should have started hatching Friday night but there was one free and knocking things around this morning. I had purchased a digital thermometer for this hatch. Appears that maybe it is a little off if they are starting early. So far nobody else is starting.

You could definately put them outside with mama. They will love it. I had let my broody and chicks into the run earlier this week when it wasn't as warm as it will be this weekend. They know to hide under mama when they are cold. Have Fun! Enjoy the summer weather we will be havin this weekend.

and if anyone in western new york needs (or wants) to get rid of a phoenix roo, I REALLY want one to be a pair with my phoenix hen. I am also looking for bantams, especially sebrights but would love some buff orpington and wyandotte bantam or std size. anyone?

Is this something the public can attend (at cornell)? if so, it might be worth the trip for me as I definately wont be going to the other one!

Is anybody going to the tailgate sale at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds? I went last spring and things were selling like crazy.

Hi Everyone!
I posted all of my Roosters on Craigslist, thinking I only had a few to get rid of...well....7 later....!!! They are all gone! I kept three, a pure cuckoo maran, pure giant blue cochin and pure STUNNING golden laced wyandotte. I can't believe I fed 10 bums all winter! What was I thinking?

We had a fox/coyote attack this morning and I lost a few of my younger cuckoo marans but they were not 100% pure, but it is still very upsetting. I've got the coop locked up tighter than ft. drum, and the shotgun handy (which I HATE shooting, the last time I had to, I missed a oppossum and killed my rooster!!!!)

My M-I-L gave me 4 of those "red light" thingies that are supposed to keep wild animals away bc they think someone is watching them, DH promised he'll put those up tomorrow. I bought a baby monitor at a garage sale last summer to put in the coop and have NO clue what I did with it.

I'm having to restrain from going to TSC right now, there's only 3 within a half hour of my place! I ordered chicks that are arriving in May and I'm planning on getting a few more at the bath auction in May too. MUST RESIST! MUST RESIST!

Well, I hope everyone is enjoying their fuzzy butts that are hatching! Take care!
