nature Berry Farm!!! I got my 4 bronze turkey poults from him last year plus a couple of chicks (all were hens yayyy!)

He guarantees hens! Just a warning though, it's not too much ummm "farmy", you may drive right past it the first time. It's a split level ranch with the farm run right out of the garage. He does have some barns in the back with ALOT of chicks. I was very happy with him last year. I'm sure he could sell you a few hens, just ask! Very very nice guy and very informative and helpful!

We also got some chicks from a place east of the city, quite a drive but a nice pretty drive! I think it's maybe a mennonite/amish place? I got some guineas from them last spring and some assorted bantams also, their prices are very good. Also a great place to buy feed and seeds, plants, etc. Pine Creek Farm and Feed 1825 Storms Rd. Lyons NY 14489 (315) 946-6061 I think closed on Sundays.

Ummmmm.....Country Max in Batavia has chicks too, not sure yet if they are in. Retsof Feed outside of Geneseo (Genesee Valley Feed) orders chicks from Murray McMurray and you only have to order 6.

So.....can anyone tell me whats at their local TSC since I am trying to not set foot in the store?

p.s. thanks for the advice on the 22, I see the DH had it out today, much easier to shoot I'm sure (I hate the shotgun) It's OK to laugh at my rooster story....everyone does...let me elaborate...I came home from work, it was about 11 at night, The chickens were FREAKING out, so I drove the truck down the field to where they were living in the garden before I had the Tajmahal built...there was a HUGE possum in the nest box so I drove the truck back to the house, thinking "well, the truck will scare him off, but let me get the shotgun in case...." ran in the house, got the gun, drove the truck back down....held the shotgun... well lets just say NOT the right way..(I hate the kickback and as a nurse I'm afraid I'm going to brak my jaw that way...) so I had it about waist high..aimed....shot....and MISSED the opposum....aimed again...shot...went over the oppossum and hit MY ROOSTER!!!!!!

Meanwhile, I'm thinking the neighbors are gonna call the cops.....what do I do? I can't wait for the DH to get home!!!! Aimed again..shot and finally KILLED the rooster!!!! So yeah, that's my rooster story! Laugh it up everyone!

So sorry for your rooster, but that's just too funny. And those who laugh the hardest have been there, done that.

I would also reccommend a .22. If you can get closer, a 410 might be the way to go. I can also tell you, from experience, that you need to practice with whatever gun you will be using. Getting used to how to hold it, how it feels and how it shoots will give you a ton of confidence and thereby make you a better shot. Oh, and an ipod does wonders as well. The scarriest part of a gun is the noise.

I'm in Syracuse, how far are you from here.

Way to far behind to read all the posts. FYI , I got Delawares chicks and adults. Thinking of getting rid of CM roo. Hatched out eggs not enough takers. Same w/ Dels. Considering how hard they are to come by I would've thought they would have sold. Right now got a trio, not sure what I'm going to do.
Have 6 chicks from GA and 6 EE's in the brooder.
Have to trade out 3 hatchery Aussies. CM roo just loves them and they look ragged but I want to keep some EE's. 2 SLW's also. They are all a year old.
Have a new Incu but no room so nothing in it.
I drove 1/2 hr. one way just to trade out some chicks.
Anybody got some Welsummer eggs to hatch? Or pure Ameraucanas?
Anybody here trade?
Anybody here been to the Bridgeport Auction?
Anybody here a member of the ALBC?
