Hi, Amy!! Newburgh is only about 47 miles from here.....very close. What breeds will you be putting in the incubator ??! I also have some Mille Fleurs....2 hens and 4 roos. They were the first chickens I ever hatched, the first breed I ever owned. I also recently got some Seramas from Jerry's......1 hen and 5 roos. Most of my flock (all 74 of them) are standard size. I also have 120 ducks. I raise rare breeds(Magpies, Anconas, Welsh Harlequins,etc). Oh...and 5 geese and 2 turkeys.

The pairing of a blue and a lavender will create the following colors combinations

Blue x Lavender =

50% Blue
50% Black

Both these offspring will be carring one copy of the lavender gene. To be visually lavender the fowl must have 2 copies of the lavender gene. One from the hen and the other from the roo. If the above offsping are mated together then there is a 25% chance of getting a visually lavender bird.

Keep an eye out for my lav/split lav auction because I have a feeling they are going to go VERY fast.

OOOO a NY chicken thread!! Why didnt I notice this before! No one is really in my area though other then chicken stalker whom I already have an order with. I am ordering from Ideal soon, silkies and standard cochins if anyone is interested in going in on an order. I am getting like 10-15 but if anyone wants to add onto that to save on shipping or whatever let me know!

Hello, joyryder!!! Believe it or not, nobody's laying at the moment. All of my chickens are still fairly young....all born this past Spring. And most of the ducks will start laying regularly again in April or so. So I'll have to wait for warmer weather to be able to trade!! IO can't wait to start up the bator again!!! I'm definitely interested in trading eggs with you!!

I only got 2 eggs yesterday from my girls. Slackers!

Besides yesterday they have all been laying almost every day!
