These chicks can't get any cuter. I especially love the face and fluffy legs/feet on the 2nd chick!

Rancher---you are SO OWNED by your girl Frenchy! Kinda like my dh is by his wenches in the terrorist coop. Only he calls his "girlfriend". They are the only ones I will let him have.

Happy--more kids should have a hobby like this. Nice pic of your daughter and her roo.

I had to rescue one of the girls from the terrorist pen yesterday as she was being chased and pecked in the run. I found she had a wound on her back, perhaps from one of the boys mounting her. Anyways, I brought her in and cleaned up her back, sprayed it with vetrimycin and blue coat and kept her downstairs in a cage overnight. She was not happy. I treated her again this am and when I got home early pm. She wanted back with the flock so dh let his girlfriend out into the back yard and she went back into the coop with the others. Only one did an exploratory peck but otherwise nothing. She is tucked in next to her man on the top roost.

Gave everyone some apples and kale today. I always feel like I am being stalked when I am walking around giving out goodies. Bunch of dinosaurs are waiting for me fall down so they can get me, I just know it.

Oh, my! So many to choose from! My sister lives in Cazenovia, and I have in-laws in Rochester which we visit frequently. I was thinking maybe I could do a drive by on the way home from her place. I'm visiting next week, but I brood with an ecoglow and don't have any place other than the house to brood this tme of year. I'm hoping maybe in April I can grab a few eggs from Rancher, marquisella, and VMD. This way I don't have to worry as much about shipping issues. It's the long way home if I do that, but it's worth it in my mind! Rancher, I am assuming CR=Corninsh Rock?

I am thinking, depending on the timing of things... marquisella will you have marans chicks in April?

Gave everyone some apples and kale today. I always feel like I am being stalked when I am walking around giving out goodies. Bunch of dinosaurs are waiting for me fall down so they can get me, I just know it.

I feel like I should have a flute or something when I go out in my yard. They hear me put the car in park and start running around in circles in the run waiting for me to open the door. Then the whole flock follows me up to the house for treats. (Leftovers from the night before usually) If anyone is driving by when this is all going on I am sure they would run off the road rubber necking at the line of birds following a human. Now when I run out of treats? They don't know me. Never saw me before. Can't even figure out who I am.

Their choice. So far they choose to stay inside and watch soap operas. (or something like that, cuz there seems to be a lot of laughing and clucking going on down there on snowy days)
