NY chicken lover!!!!

Well been off here for a bit like 180 posts so no way I can catch up with that.

Noticed today one of my chickens combs/wattles has sores. I have a lot of flys atm and hopeing that's it. It's one of my bantam cochins that I think is a roo so maybe he got in a scuffle with my main roo.

Speaking of my main roo I chased him off my property today cause I was trying to get that chicken with sores and the roo came after me. I'm glad he protected the flock but not glad he came after me. Him and I have to set up some sorta agreement soon I think.

I put another dozen eggs in bator from lady at work. Five of 12 are fertile and healthy atm. Would be 6 but one has a blood ring like 3/4 way around the egg. I do have a problem with one egg that is fertile. It has cracks in it. Is that something to worry or will keeping humidity up make it ok?

Anyone near me know if JJ Feeds carries that liquid form of DE to treat animals with? I want to start treating my birds as a preventive like some or most of you do. I often hear some of you mention you "worm" your birds. How would I go about doing this? I think some of you also use that Eprinex? Sorry I know this was just a topic of discussion but my mind is a jumbled mess over stuff going on this week that I can't remember. I need to make a stop at JJ's this weekend for shavings so I'm hoping they have it but if not I'll take a ride out to TS.
Eprinex is 0.5cc at between the wings at the base of the neck on the skin and it doesn't require any withdrawal time

Just Chris...I wasn't invited! LOL
Lynzi I have a creek too and a pool you can come use either of mine right along with any of the others from here. Although I must say if you want coffee or tea you need to bring your own as I don't even have a coffee pot no one here drinks either but I do have cold soda, lots of cold water, a few cold Labatts, and some cold wine coolers too .

Severe thunderstorms here in Buffalo but its not raining at my house yet. Figures I took the end plastic window well covers off 2 days ago :/

If anyone interested in a natural prevention for worms cayenne pepper flakes and garlic are good. Also seeds from gourd veggies like pumpkins & squash. I use them about once a month as a preventive and no one has had worms. And the eggs are safe to eat as well

It started pouring at the chickens bedtime here ..I spent some time in the run with the chickens ..
