NY chicken lover!!!!

Well it's Day 5 in the bator for my eggs and I don't think a single one of them is fertile. I candled them this morning and not a single vein has started on any of them. One of the Buff Orp eggs doesn't even look like it has a yolk! I'll be cracking that one open later on. So this batch is a bust....

That's a bummer, Lynzi...

Well, still only my Marans hen laying for me on a regular basis. I keep thinking the Delaware or CR's will be any time now. The Del's comb and wattle are a fire-engine red. I've seen the rocks checking out the nesting boxes, too...but nothing out of them yet. It's hard to be patient -- not one of my virtues!

Have a good weekend everyone. Where did our glorious sunshine go? Everything's soggy again. I guess we needed the rain, though.

I cracked open some eggs today to make for lunch, one of which was just layed today and it didn't look fertile. Guess I just assumed they would be, but maybe Gru has been spending too much time hanging out by the rabbit cages rather than with the ladies. ;-) just kidding...maybe he just hasn't been as active with them since him and Stella and are going thru a molt.

More little banty mama and babies.. all lined up.. She is teaching them discipline! These will be interesting colors I think. Daddy was nugget, who is back living with county boy, and mama was ?!?!?..

I'm betting they will be buff barred with good light pattern!! They look like my last PB chick who is about 1.5 months now. I'll post pics tomorrow of him.:D
