My grandfather deserves the credit though. He started me on 2010 and from then I got Silkies in 2011, sold them, got on BYC, made some friends on here with Lynne in Califronia and she taught me a lot about Cochins. She is nice enough to send me what I need and there have been times when she sends me stuff for free and pays for shipping. It makes me feel really bad but also good that somebody willingly does that for me without my asking. My boy Nigus hatched from shipped eggs she just sent one day because everything I had already hatched was killed by a weasel and my roo Louie was sent to help with the Lemon Blue project she got me going on. I have got lots of birds from lots of different people but I owe pretty much all my credit to my grandfather and Lynne. Without them I think I would still be going on with a small flock of 6 hens and 2 roosters.

good motto- I honestly do believe that though. I have friends that won't do anything but play on the Xbox all day. I find I do more with my dad, grandfather, or uncle that anybody else because they aren't scared to leave the tv.

Who 'll stop the rain ?
Some chickens dont mind the weather & some do ..Mine would stay out in the rain all day if I let them out ..
If it is rainy day I dont let them out as long
Do you plan on free ranging your chickens or keeping them in a run ..
I imagine there are a lot of Predators in the big woods .

I am feeling old now. Most of my friends are much older then me so I always feel like I am one of the "young" ones, but I think that I am realizing that I'm starting to be one of the "older"ones. I know that I'm still not that old. I was 3 in '82.

My favorite Charmin commercial was the ones when the kid took all the TP and stuffed his clothes. I think that he was skating, that part I can't remember. I just remember being a kids thinking that it was cool and I needed to do it!

only 16? My son is 20 and my daughter would have been 26. But I still don't feel old ....cause I'm not

I wish I had started in on the things I love when I was in my teens - oh how far along I would be !!!! That you know what you take joy in is a gift - so run with it now !!!


I have a BCM roo - from a breeder stock - he is drop dead gorgeous - I had BCM roos from hatchery before and thought they were great until this guy started to feather out - he is about 4 months old now - and turns out I have two .... wait for it ..... roos. ha. So while I paid too much for these two BCM - I can't have two roos.

I am willing to trade for homemade canned stuff or a modest price to anyone who is interested in a super-quality Black Copper Marans Roo .... I'll try to get some pics up in a day or two. Will be glad to meet somewhere. Ask me any questions you may have. That deal is only for peeps on this thread or people you vouch for .... different deal if I have to list him on cl.

Ask Pyxis about the breeder - she is the one that bought the eggs and incubated them out - and she remembers names and breed lines so much better than this old lady !
