I worked for the Crossings in Minoa and quit after three days. I'm still struggling with it, since some of my reasons for quitting bothers my conscience. Part of me wishes I had not been so hasty.
My next job was for the Hearth on James. Expensive but the staff was nice, the place was clean. I liked the manager and pretty much everyone.
Many of the people who work in these places are high school educated at the most. At the Crossings they were in high school.
The one things these two places have in common is low wages. You will not get professional help for $8 hr. Though I will say some folks really do care no matter what the pay.
Keep in mind that the elderly can be demanding and in some case unreasonable. What I liked about the Hearth is that they had monthly meetings for everyone, whether or not the came in direct contact with the residents.
Sometimes a stranger will treat you better than family. Strangers don't know your faults.![]()
