NY chicken lover!!!!

The hard part will be getting her to hold still .
Wrap her in a towel ..covering her head with just the beak sticking out .
If her head is covered it should calm her
Great idea

Well I've never ordered shoes off Ebay which is why I'm asking. I'm at the other end of the spectrum and I can't find 71/2 even DSW! So I checked on line and I can find shoes and much cheaper too. I'm sure I'll order something. IMO men needs four pairs of shoes. Black and Brown dress, a good pair of casual and a good pair of sneakers. ( now known as , walkers, runners, joggers, work out, etc. etc. )

This is why folks think life was so much easier in the "good ol days". You didn't have sixteen kinds of eggs or milk or sneakers, or shirts or jeans. Good garden o' peas! I guy could go crazy trying to buy stuff now. I can see it now.

"Where's your father?" " I don't know he went down the pizza aisle and never came back" "Well we've been here two days if he doesn't show up soon he can walk home". Grocery stores have become a destination trip!

I think they want to put a hotel at Destiny mall for folks to stay at while they wait for the teenagers to come back from where every it is they go.

Anyhow, try Ebay they have sizes the stores don't. Otherwise we'll be stuck wearing flip flops all year long.

I get my sneakers off ebay all the time. I just got some new basketball shoes which should be her next week and the are a lot cheaper than they are in store with free shipping. I love ebay!

These are Range chickens because the stove is not free.

Who was looking for shoes? OMG can I shop. I LOVE to shop! You're in Syracuse, close to Waterloo Outlets. There is a Clarks store there, they have wide Clarks, the only place I've been able to find wide Clarks. We missed Presidents Day but OMG, last year, I got a pair of Northface Boots (at the Clarks store) for $15.00 and Clarks leather boots for $45, and Clarks shoes for $20. There are more shoe places there, one carries the nice German shoes like Birkenstock's, and I think they have the Uggs. I don't have Uggs, just have too many boots atm. The BIG BIG BIG problem I have is the Coach outlet store that's there. I can't leave that place without something, and it usually turns into a lot of somethings. A few years ago I went into Coach, got a nice handbag, walked next door to the Sunglass Hut and bought a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and was like, oh man, I just put over $500 on my credit card and it's only 2 items. The great blessing is that now the New Hartford Shopping Center has a Sunglass Hut and I get to go often so can get really good deals. The Maui's I got in Waterloo were $350 and I got another pair in New Hartford for only about $120. They always have good deals, got my 13 yr old Arnettes for about $40 and a cool pair of spiderman limited edition Maui Jims for around $80 on clearance. Unbelievable prices, but it was Black Friday. They also had some really good prices on Oakley's and a couple of Ray Bans.

My absolute favorite city is Chicago because it has the magnificent mile of shopping. It is HEAVEN! They have a 3 story Talbots!!! It is such fun. Now I want to go shopping.

If you go to the Waterloo outlet mall, stop in the center court, show them your AAA card and get a coupon book before you shop. Do you ski? This time of year, Columbia has the big sale. We got excellent ski gloves original $120 for about $8 last year on Presidents day sale.

So today is day 9... Candled 30 eggs only have 13 left in the incubator

my son broke every clear egg and confirmed nothing was growing. I have 4 eggs with eyes and veins. The others I can't tell. I set 5 more I took out of the coop today. Is that ok?
So its ok, but the last 5 won't hatch for 21 more days if they are fertile. Your 13 that are growing will hatch in 8 days, so you will have to either raise up the humidity for those that are hatching, and risk having it too high for the last 5, or move them to a separate hatcher for best results.

For the first time ever, the 6 coops in the shed row on the east side of my barn has a flooded aisle....the coops themselves aren't flooded because I have 4" thick rubber mats on their floors, but the aisle between the coops & the barn wall has 3" of water in it...aarrgghh. Everything is so damp. There is no way I can get rid of all that moisture until it sinks innto the ground...I just hope my birds don't get sick from so much moisture....

Even the inside of the barn coops floors are damp & frozen....I can't wait to clean it all out & put in the dry shavings...my back hurts just thinking about it...

On a positive note, the geese & ducks are loving it. Me, not so much.

I don't know why, but I just love my geese & ducks....not even laying eggs yet, but there is something about them ......

JWebb and Rancher....try Zappos.com....they carry a whole lot of sizes....however that isn't their best feature. Their BEST feature is they pay postage both ways....when I see something I want (like, or just have to have. LOL) I order it in a couple of sizes, charge it and return the ones that don't fit before the charge hits my card. They are pretty darn prompt with their refunds too. Just be sure to save the paperwork so you can immediately send it back....return label comes with the package.

I couldnt find anything about specific breeds ..so I dont know if all can be Feather sexed or just some ...

Maybe it depends on the breed or breeder ?
I understand vent sexing is even harder to do

You have to specifically breed for it or it doesn't work. Feather sexing chicks can be accomplished by crossing males that are homozygous for rapid feather growth or carry two rapid feather growth alleles ( k+/k+) with females that are hemizygous or carry only one slow feather growth allele ( K/_W). Here's an example of what to cross to get chicks you can feather sex.
