They really are just another mouth to feed unless of course you have a garden and are going to use their droppings for fertilizer. I don't have a garden here so they are pretty much free loaders. I like to have a litter or two a year so I can at least make some money back to put towards feed. I'm hoping to get to a show this year with the mini satins just to see how they'd do.
Use your imagination. Bag the manure and sell it. Even a dollar for a small bag is better than nothing. Figure about the size of a brown paper grocery bag. Set a table near the road and you're in business. I wouldn't think of getting rabbits if you were near me.
I figure if I put the hutch near my compost piles I could let the manure fall right into the pile and work it with the chicken manure and grass clippings.
