NY chicken lover!!!!

Well I'm in love with the gosling already. Decided to name her Mocha because she responds well to it. They are such cuties, the only babies I have ever had where when you talk to them they reply back and you know it's meant for you. I had her out to play for about an hour today and she ended up snuggling up under my hair to take a nap. I forgot my camera though, sorry  Hopefully I'll remember it tomorrow.

All the babies made it through their first night here and are doing well. Not afraid of me one bit, which is great. I think they may have imprinted on me, which would explain it. All the little chicks like to snuggle up beside and on top of Mocha and she seems happy with that arrangement. I'll have to try to get a picture.

Oh, and the EE chicks are still all looking girly besides the one that is definitely a roo and one who's becoming iffy. Still, even if it does also turn out to be a roo, two roos out of eleven chicks is pretty darn good!

Here's a pic of my babies. I finally got new batteries for the camera. Well at least 4 of the 5 the other runner moved her head. It was on the pekins back. it was co cute.

I'm thinking that the cochin chick on the left is a roo and the one on the right is a hen. The left one has a comb twice as big as the other one and it is bigger too. Now how am I supposed to break my little mans heart to tell him that one of his little chicks may have to go. I think it was overnight that my pekin is starting to turn white.

OMG those chicks are growing like weeds!!! My little gray Silkie is still itty bitty. I keep thinking I'm going to wake up to it dead cuz it's just not growing. Weird. But it's still runnin around up there! I bet that Pekin is growing pretty fast ;-). When I took the last three over to my friends house I couldn't believe how big they had gotten in just over a week!

Wanted to share this pic of blue runner drake. He has a "heart" on his heart!

Alright so it's not a perfect heart but you get the idea...

He is cute. One of my girls has a spot on her back. I'm sure that it'll change when she gets her feathers. Yes the pekin is getting so big. I am still leaning to it being a drake, but not sure. Overnight he started to get white under the yellow. He lets the chicks snuggle up to him and sometimes I catch them sleeping on his back. Maybe it is a girl and the motherly instinct kicks in early.

Awwww my runner has a dark spot on it's back too. I'm curious to what it's gonna look like compared to the blue I have. Ke5hde and and had mentioned in the past about her possibly being a splash because of the black spots she has in her.

Looking forward to seeing pics of Miss Mocha. She sounds delightful. What type of goose is she?
