NY chicken lover!!!!

I'm really worried about the temp/water in my Brinsea and I'm not sure what to do for the next three days of lockdown, need some advice.
I've been doing a dry hatch this time around and everything is going great. I added a tiny bit of water to the well today before lockdown and it's already up to 70% humidity so I don't want to add anymore. However, I'm afraid because there is so little in there that it's going to dry out quickly and I'll have to add more tomorrow and the next day. I don't know if I should fill half the well and see how high it gets, see if it possibly comes down a little? I just don't want to have to open the bator tomorrow and Friday to add more water. What do I do?!?!? I'm just really surprised that this little amount of water is bringing the humidity to 70%.

Is there room in there that instead of filling the trays you could stick in a baby food jar? That holds a lot of water and doesn't dry out very quickly. It's what I use with sponges sticking out the top to hold humidity in my homemade incubator.

Lynzi - They are so cute. That one little cockerel looks crazy. Glad that they made it home to you safe and sound.

Rancher - I swim my 3 in the slop sink in the wash room. I use warm water. The first time I did it I put them in the kitchen sink. They splashed so much, that I decided next time to put them in the back room. I do it almost ever night while I clean up their brooder. I usually just dry them mostly off with a warm towel. I'm going to have to try the hair dryer. After their bath time I usually lower the kight for a little bit.

Had to go to the city this AM for a doctor appt. Man the roads sucked! Hope everyone makes it home safe an sound.

Sorry no experience with Brinsea.

Dino...
Just shoveled a path out to my shed. Everyone seems to be getting along nicely. The mottled roo was being a little terror when he first arrived but I held him upside down by his feet and had nice little chat with him. He hasn't bothered a sole since. Wish I hadn't gotten so many roos but she didn't want to separate the last pair I added (the silkie/cochin corsses) because they were bonded. I really didn't care for the mottled one. Now that I've seen him he is beautiful and he is definitely bonded to that hen! They're in there laying together in the corner of the shed. He follows her everywhere. If she eats, so does he, if she drinks, he's right there with her. Now she's resting and sure enough, so is he! Can't get rid him now!

They're so cute together.

DH has a furnace guy coming out Friday morning! Woo Hoo!!
Dino ? Where is that?

The well inside the incubator is just about the same size of a baby food jar, it stands in the middle just under the heat/fan. I'm just worried about drowning them if I do fill it but if I don't having to open it and refill wouldn't be good either. Maybe I can remove the water and try just placing a sponge in there.

Just found out NONE of the birds I got today are related so I can breed the sizzle to the smooth. WooHoo! And even the bonded pair they are from her sizzle project and unrelated so I don't have to separate those into pens either.

Can I put some water in the tub and put my ducks in there for a while? Maybe shallow water and how long can I leave them in there? Do I dry them off afterwards when it's time to put them back in the brooder?

Yes and yes. They LOVE water. They poop in water. Bring the Clorox Clean up with bleach for the after care. And yes, you have to dry them off or they get a chill. And they poop while you do that too. LOL
