NY chicken lover!!!!

Got most my TSC bantams figured out. Have a Millie Fluer pullet, Splash roo (Cottonball), buttercup pullet, BLRW bantam roo. The final 2 are a 'wild type' color pullet and a pretty slate blue color roo, both with slate/green legs. They had the chipmunk stripes, so hoping EE.
Genetic question: if I cross the BLRW bantam roo with SLW LF hens, would they be LF, bantam, a mix of both or become medium size? I don't have breeding pens, but thought he might be a neat little project bird, if not for me then maybe someone else can use him.

There are a couple flocks. Trust me, finding one was NOT easy. I fell in love with the breed and had to have them. Tonie Marie had a flock, but she doesn't any longer. Greenfire wants $5000 a pair and hatching eggs go for over $1000 a dozen on eBay, so they're not easy to get your hands on. So glad I found the man who sold me mine. He is local to upstate NY. Don't want to say too much though because he recently had a problem with theft.
Trouble is many breeds die out because folks don't keep enough of any one breed. An attack on my Dels and I'd be wiped out. Same with my Birchens and CR's. This is why the ALBC can't count small flock keepers.

I think due to the poor quality of hatching mills, like hatcheries can't guarantee the survival of a breed and it's utility.

Hi again NY chicken folks! Stopping back in to say we went and got our 6 babies from Nature Berry Farm in Macedon, and they are doing fantastic. this is really fun (1st chickens we have had) and easier than I thought. Nature Berry is very cool, and Jim and Sandy are very nice and helpful. We had a fun day. Took one hour each way, and the chicks were fine with the included heat packs. I wish we could go get more!

We chose these gals...
Buff Orphington
Silver Lace Wyandotte
Buff Wyandotte
Golden Laced Wyandotte
Black Australope
Partridge Wyandotte.

I am not sure of their exact age, but they went on sale on the 11th I believe, so maybe a week or so?

congrats on the new babys ..i am wondering tho if the one is a welsummer chick ..i just got a handful of them and they look exactly like the one you have shown in your pic..i no you list them but here you take a look and tell me your opinion..

i guess chicks can look a lot alike ..even tho they are from different breeds..i just thought it was amazing how close they look to each other ..lol

sorry the pics are above and below your quote..i am not real good at the whole posting pic thing yet ..lol

The Ducks survived til morning. And I slept well. I cannot keep worrying about these darn ducks. I love them, they are soooo funny and cute....but they are gonna give me a heart attack if I don't just let them be. Maybe if I get Runner ducks? They don't swim do they?

Think all ducks swim some. I'm not liking my ducks too much. They are so anti-me. I let them out of coop and they only come when I go to other side of window and they get scared out of the coop. I put food like 5 feet away and they come and grab a bite then run away. Chickens are so much nicer than ducks except my rooster who came at me yesterday and I shamed him so bad he ran away for likle 30 min and still hides from me a few days after his shameing.
