I candled 2 of the Am eggs last night under my broody, one I could see some great development! Lots of veins, looked like it was right on target for day 9. The other I couldn't really see any veins but it had a decent size air sac. I wanted to look at more but felt like I was pushing my luck with her letting me pick them up.
Has anyone here tried water candling? Some of the youtube videos were neat to see.

I love my barnies I got from them! They were the most consistent layers over the winter. And EE's are just plain fun! I love Keuka Lake, I went to Keuka College for undergrad. I do miss running along the lake.Sending hellos from the northern Keuka Lake area![]()
We have just started with chickens and have two sets of chicks that are about 7 weeks apart in age, with the older 6 being 10 weeks old. In total, 13 chickens... 2 Barnevelders, 2 Brabanters: Cream & Gold, 2 Brahmas: Light and Buff, 2 Light D'Uccle Bantams, 1 D'Anvers Blue Quail Bantam, 2 Easter Eggers, 1 Plymouth Barred Rock and 1 Welsummer. We got all our chicks from Nature Berry Farm, and we would recommend them to ANYONE
Would love to talk to other chicken people in my area![]()
