NY chicken lover!!!!

You can give them ice water to drink ..
Put a fan in the coop to draw out the hot air ...Plant a tree for shading the coop the next year .
Can spray them with a small mist ...They wont like it though .
My chickens actually like getting wet I was washing the Corvettes this past weekend and the foolish chickens kept running to where they could get wet with the water .

Well my chickens are eating less layer ...and free ranging more ...
Laying less eggs now 2 or three a day ..
Guess what I got today ?

a totally shell less egg ..perfect for hard boiling !
Im wondering if I am adding too much liquid to the fermented feed or what ..
Im thinking I may have to buy some oyster shell or something ...for more calcium for them

Don't think you really can add too much water unless it's like 90% water. The more water in the feed the less they will drink so it sorta off sets its already. You may need to add shells or oyster shells. Or set some out there for them to eat on their own.

Yep guy at work just showed it to me yesterday at the end of the night. Great cat reminds me of my old cat growing up it would run off dogs also.

I ferment it & then drain it ....maybe I have a hen at the end of her cycle ?
see if it happens again ...Scared the living daylights out of me when I touched it in the nest box ....didnt notice it was shell less till I touched it .

I don't drain mine but I also stopped using so much water. Mine don't have water over the top of it until it settles after about an hour. I just mix it up good before serving and feed the ducks theirs first since they like it sloppier.

Gramma, I have had weird rubbery shell-less eggs at times. I think something just gets confused in a hens body every once in a while. Haven't had any lately, and it's all the same girls.
