It's so hard to wake up every morning and not anything to go outside to. After we get moved and settled and the kids are all set for school, registered, physicals done, etc, I can see myself devoting the rest of my summer to getting my birds down there. Even if they do end up being down the road, it's better than not having them down there at all. I wonder if I'd be able to "rent/lease" a piece of a farm's land close by. I often see ads on CL for people looking for land to lease for hunting or housing their animals on, I wonder how successful they are in finding someone who will lease to them. Maybe I'll try editing my ad that way.

Safe travels. Hopefully you will be able to get your chicks out there with you - somehow! Stay in touch, after all, you are an NYer!!

We had a great time...Especially the kids...The whole way home they kept asking when we can go back. I told them that the other kids wouldn't be there...Maddy said that was fine they could just go and play in the creek. I told her that I wasn't going to ask to come over just so they could play in the creek. I'm glad that I decided to bring their bag with clothes. I wish I would have brought my camera to take a picture of DS after he "fell in" I really think that he just laid down...DH doesn't want me to come back, he is afraid that I'll bring something home with me..He knows me too well. I really want one of the frizzle chicks!

For not having a very kid friendly house, they always seem to have fun :)
If I could have figured out a way to send a chick home with you I would have. This is NOT a place to be if you're trying not to bring any birds home

I may have to come get one or two early next week! I have 2 broodies sitting on some eggs. He doesn't know how many eggs I have under them, what's one or 2 more added in with them.

Hey guys, I moved out of my mother In laws house, we are on a farm now and have no internet. Everyone is doing good, today the landlords dog brought a live and unharmed turkey hatchling. He took us to the nest and we found one live and three dead babies. They are tame turkeys, the hen came from a neighbors house and pretty sure the coyotes got her. How different is raising turkey's from chicks? Would a broody hen from my flock be likely to take them in?
And here we are discussing having my DD and SIL move in.

I got some Araucana / Frizzle eggs for you. Might turn out cool. He's lavender and she's a del pattern.

I'd like any extra of that mix ! :) I've turned into a real Frizzle fan after the one I got from Tab ... Lizzie the Frizzie is soooo cute.

But I like them LF sized. Most Frizzies are those odd little silkie things.

At least I know I won't run that risk when dealing with Rancher.

These are about a medium sized. Not bantam like frenchy but not big like an orp. I try to get some bigger so they may be fertilized my my large EE roo too. I can't say. I suggest you cross a frizzle roo with your biggest hen. Though soft feather birds like cochins have the best curls.
A small roo can do the job with a big girl just fine. Or a larger roo to a smaller frizzle hen I suppose.
