NY chicken lover!!!!

Yep - you can plan on smaller - but you can also just use the big - when miss millie when broody - she did it in the main big box - everyone's favorite box - of course.

and on funny/good news front - Mr. millie was chasing one of the hens around who was not yet interested - but he is! So that means they must be feeling the warmer weather ! We still have 4-5 weeks to get the eggs going in the incubator before Chickenstock !

Alright!! I went into TSC today and walked right up to the cheeps there....so cute, but I told them sorry - I have lots coming in May.....can't wait! I'm so excited! I think I have poultry fever!!

Me too ! I am ITCHING to get my buckeyes finally ! I've been waiting well over a year ... but things went wonky last year with a different order and didn't pan out ... so put my ability to get my buckeyes on hold .... so I can't wait !!!

That's my kind of Easter basket!

Yes, Rancher, I am certainly surviving. There is a certain humor in being delt such a perplexing problem just out of sleep and the coffee pot won't work! I guess I have a dark sense of humor. Have not had to think of septic tanks before, Not sure I'll remember any better in ten years. Sorry about the damage you have, thaw at was no fault of yours, just the luck of the draw.

Oh I quite understand the coffee thing. We have a back up Keurig now. Though I might want to buy a French press.

Just in case.

My routine is to make the coffee first, go out let the birds out and come in to my coffee. Though I have been known to not wait for the coffee to finish before pouring half a strong cup.

I can't even touch the septic thing. We've had problems but no into the house.

I often bring my coffee out on my morning greet of the animals, but my pregnant goat (Sophie) has decided I am not allowed to have anything in the hand that is not for her, so now I make my coffee (have a couple big sniffs and maybe a gulp or 2) go visit her with her morning carrot, then come grab my coffee and take my dog Lilly to go check on the chickens

Today was a good day, nice and warm. Didn't get done what I wanted to, but oh well. Wanted to get some cleaning done, but my back just wouldn't cooperate. May have to break down and see the doctor...I did how ever get 2 things done...First I went and picked up 2 more ducks! These 2 girls are nice. The black and white one has way to much black, but she'll be alright until my eggs hatch and see what I have there.

The second thing that I got accomplished was to help with the water flow in the chicken run. The way that our yard drains in the spring, the run off seems to go right through the run. It already decided what path it was going to take, I just cleared it out a little but. When I went out to close up for the night, I was listening. It sounds like I have a nice water feature in the gate where the water flows off of the rock step.

Chickens don't care for it, but the ducks are sure enjoying all this water!

Though, last time our electric was out last summer when we woke up the wife started boiling water for instant coffee blahh! I dragged the generator out of the garage and fired it up just to make a pot of coffee, the lovely wife called me a idiot! Lol!
