NY chicken lover!!!!

Hey guys....quick question.

Can I start turkey poults with chicken chicks and then separate them down the road? I only have one grow out pen...the chicken chicks hatched this past weekend. I was planning on getting some turkey poults or fertile eggs from a friend around June....hoping to time their arrival with our chicks' moving out of the grow-out pen and in with the main flock.

But...he won't have any poults or fertile eggs by then. So I'm going to have to order now...and anyways, I think I have to start turkey poults now for Thanksgiving anyways, right? (Never done turkeys...have no idea what we're doing just yet).

So I was thinking maybe I could get some poults from The Poultry Hatchery in Clifton Springs and add them with the chicks. And then when I move the chicks out of the grow out pen, the poults could stay behind until harvest time.

**I still have to find homes for those three silkie roos in order for my grow out pen to be available...so if anybody wants them, let me know, lol. FREE!

Thanks and hello everybody!! My Runnings said if I bought six this time that next weeks order I could get 4 more since they had little to nothing left when I got there!
It's always helpful to put your location near your avatar. Thanks and Welcome to the coop.

Be careful or you may become Sherry. She's doing 3-5 years for robbing a Hatchery.

This is Maureen she's been committed. Just went off the deep end of the coop. Writing songs about her love of chickens.

"Uncle Bucks got cotton,
Uncle Bucks got corn,
Uncle Bucks got chickens ain't never been borned.
Ooooohhhh Uncle Buuuucccckkkk".

Anyone interested in a Partridge Rock roo? Think he is 1.5 years old, hatched him from an egg that I got from a breeder. Did lose the comb points to frostbite. He is a good respectful boy, doesn't challenge me or the lead GLW roo. But he is taking the ladies across the road. Poor GLW roo stands on this side calling for them to come back. Need to rehome him before the hens become roadkill. Free, as I prefer him to go to a flock rather than freezer.
