NY chicken lover!!!!

I just discovered a strange scientific phenomenon.  My barn is 5 times further from my house when I am trying to collect eggs during a thunderstorm with pouring rain!

It looks like that storm is moving my way, too. The wind is really picking up here and the sky is getting dark. Luckily I already grabbed my eggs before heading to work :)

Yep! same here...skies are getting darker! I don't have egg laying hens yet, they're only just now in the coop as of a week ago. Better go check on them before the storm!

Howdy, just popping in to say "what's up?" I try to keep up with the thread and enjoy reading all the posts, but when it comes to replying to specific things I'm not too good. Glad to see you're chugging along with peeps and such.
Someone posted a pic of a great new duck hut. Love it.
Congrats to Rancher on the new grandbaby.
Gramma your little peeps and their momma hen are too cute.
On this end I finally got a bunch of goslings. Five little Pomeranians for an awesome price. We're planning to raise them all summer and eat them at holiday feasts; however, if they grow out to meet the breed standard I will be mighty tempted to sell them as breeders, or keep them myself for breeding...
Homemade incubators and broody hen cooking along. I have the broody in a little rabbit hutch, best broody setup I ever had. It's right outside our bedroom window so I can hear if something goes wrong, and it's big enough she can raise the babies in there for a couple of weeks.
