I guess it is natural for them. Ido give them black sunflower seeds and mealworms to up the protien, but naybe pojey just likes to eat feathers.

I use purina crumble feed...

I think RIRs' are just plain mischevious/naughty. Caught 1 of my yound pullets running around with a half eaten egg in her beak - not hers she isn't laying yet! My egg count has been down lately and I put it down to an early molt....little beastie!!

I'm no master carpenter to say the least. But after a few days I got my coop and run constructed. Finished it up just in time for a friend to rehome her 3 golden comets. They are taking a liking to the new pad. And it won't be too long and the 10 chicks I recieved a bit over a week ago will be ready to move in.chicks are 3 redstars, 2 crested polish, 2 easter eggers, and 3 mystery chicks. Each healthy as can be. Will put up pics tomorrow

That's what I told the kids they were chomping on. They all laughed hysterically. They are so excited to start eating fresh eggs all the time.

Are you waiting till they get bigger to add the chicks to the comets ? as they will probably really peck the babies
