Can you post a pic? I would think you could plant along both sides and front of your property. A nice row of "Nine barks would look nice. Nine barks are easy to propagate with cuttings. About 4 feet wide when full size and the same high. They come in nice colors too. We had Wine and it started to sprout runners that hung down.
But you could also plant along the outside of your coop for added protection. What about a temp fencing set up.

ouch ...so sorryAll the hens doing ok, some frostbite on the larger combed roosters & wattles. All from drinking waterin the open bowls. They'll be fine as the ones that had it last year are fine now.![]()
Power went out last night around 11:30pm; brought in broody & 4 wk old chicks, only to find them this morning overheated & about half of the chicks dead. They looked like they got "trampled"? So sad, as they were mostly pullets, as the roosters I'd sent to auction last Wednesday. Returned the survivors back outside when it was still -19*F, and as of tonight they're doing ok.
