NY chicken lover!!!!

I've been offering hatching eggs to BYC members I'm just leery of some folks who will take anything for free and not treat them very well.

Some folks don't want to raise them to laying age but then want them for $5 after you've done all the work. I may have to make a drive to West Windfield. With these chicks. I just think folks who are to lazy to put in the extra effort might not be good chicken people.
I agree some people dont value anything they get for free ..
but dont want to pay a decent price for a almost adult chicken you fed ...to get that size ...

What is West Windfield?
Did I see someone took the Marans ? Where they pretty ?
I miss Ginger ...my brown EE ...

West Winfield is a town that has a monthly livestock auction. King's is the name of the place.

My hubby says he heard little ninja crow this morning ..
This awww aaww sound ..Im like why didnt you wake me up ?
Hes like "it was over quickly "
Im not sure it was him ..he is only 3 months
I love the first crows! Hysterical. Reminds me of Alfalfa on Little Rascals! Either the little sulmtalers roo or the little CCL roo at 5 weeks started crowing. They are pint sized- I heard the crow from the brooder and thought wtheck time for you to go outside. They are all doing just fine. They are 2 months old but there are 15 of them and the coop is still insulated. I was a little stressed about it once our cold snap hit.

My latest hatch is in lockdown. I have over 100 due. I opened the farm Sunday 11-2 if anyone wants chicks. They are mostly going to be crosses from my winter housing situation. I put up the CL for them.

So, I just got the newest release of the Swedish Flowers Hens from GFF. I have more chicks then I am going to need. Same with the Queen Silvia's. I can part with some of those for cost if anyone is interested. The SFH came yesterday and the Queens are 2 weeks old.

Well I don't care I hate the cold.

Chickens don't mind to much. Laid eggs so that's good.

got and email for hatching eggs. Only wanted to pay $5 a dzoen. Said her birds were misfits and not special. She just kept them for the eggs. I wanted $1 an egg for Marsh Daisy eggs. Was I wrong?
I love your Marsh Dasies....They are beautiful birds. Jason and I are still talking about them. Pictures just don't do them justice at all!!! I am looking forward to the hatch- I think I have two eggs & your chick.

I just got attacked by my red. She was in the nest and I went to collect eggs. She was sitting on 12 . As I was pulling them out she was rolling them back in. So i let her keep 5. Grrr!!!! What a beautiful wonderful thing if she has gone broody. I have permission to hatch until I'm sick of chicks. Woohoo!!!! He finally read my emails that are requesting chicks, eggs and such. My daughter's personal aid at school wants a flock of her own, so there is 6 to start then 24 more once she convinces her husband.

I'm so happy it was nothing worse than a pain in the butt. I think it has to do with the sea salt in the soaks. Well that and the fact that we eat so much onion, garlic ,and peppers my system is not a pleasant place for bad bacteria .
