NY chicken lover!!!!

Nah, I just moved about seven minutes East, lol. I'm about five minutes over the NY border into VT now. Glens Falls is about an hour from me.

There's an emu farm in VT. I'm going to ask if they'd be willing to sell me some eggs when I decide to start hatching. If not, there's always eBay. There's a bunch on there right now.
ooo! If they have enough to sell me one or two as well I'll come get them from you..

I'll do ebay if I have to, but not sure how sensitive emu eggs are to shipping - have had 'eh' success with shipped chicken eggs. I need to get another 'bator before I can hatch it - don't think it will fit in my little brinsea. :)

PM me when you have enough NN eggs, I'll drive your way and buy some. =)

Are Your roosts Lower than your nesting boxes ..?
I get a occasional roost in the hen house .or .they are either broody or sick ..
Sick ones always start sleeping in the hen house then... I notice they are sick ..Probably a Balance thingY
Yes but they don't like each other so won't roost near someone they don 't like. Too I think the youngsters aren't welcome and I might be a bit crowded. I did move the lav and blue ee 's to the half hoop but they aren't kept in together long enough to get used to each other so they don't stay near the coop. I"m afraid they'll get picked off if a hawk comes by.

Maybe with time they will adjust to the change ...I find Cutie in the nest boxes sometimes ...coz he is a lesser Rooster .

There should be like an Uber for chicken/chick/egg shipping. Several people per state just go and pick up eggs from one farm and drop them at another.

Maybe they could have territories, and if a drop-off location is in a different territory, they would transfer the eggs or birds to another driver and they would deliver them.

Would solve rough handling issues, but sadly not the vibration issues.

Someone with more business sense than I could make this something. Or completely tear it apart and make me feel stupid for coming up with it in the first place...ha

as many people here sell and buy you might have a great idea!! I can't as I have too many kids and not enough time.

@Chicken girl 15 wonder if Animal Adventure sells emu eggs? We probably don't want to know Lol! Wonder how much it'd cost to raise a few of them.
