NY chicken lover!!!!

@rooster58 how many of the eggs from me made it?

Ended up with all six of the rest out of the jail shell. Woo hoo. Had to assist two of them because for some reason they were mispositioned. Right now they are doing great. I only had two not develop from all the eggs I set. They were two of my own. I'm super happy with my first hatch results.

Welcome to all the newbies! Glad to have you join us!
Wow! The weather has been crazy! Got a cold/aches on Thurs & with the cold weather on too of it, it's been a tough few days. Thankfully, I didn't have to work a full day Friday, so came home & rested, then in the evening packaged up nearly a week's worth of eating eggs, after sorting out hatching eggs for myself & a customer who wanted blue eggs. The other day I got 77 eggs! Crazy, yet thankfully have ended up picking up a few extra customers, plus starting to set eggs weekly. Already got quite a few new & repeat orders for my Catskill Homesteader Chickens, so that's awesome considering there's so many other "established" or "rare" breeds out there! Yet, even today I got an email from a lady who bought one pullet from me 2 years ago, says "she's so smart" & wants chicks this year.

So far the broody hens & chicks are doing fine outside, we'll see how they do tonight in zero or below zero weather! They're going to be hardy little chickens & even when I checked in them tonight, they seemed lenty warm under the hens & heating pad.

Rooster58 that is great!! Does your bator have the alarm if humidity goes low? Can't wait to see all your baby peepS!!!

Hey folks.

It is finally time for us to start considering expanding our flock again by a couple of pullets. If you want to plan to sell us pullets in the summer - awesome, we'll plan for that. If you happen to already have an excess of pullets sitting around? Even better.

We're looking for something not already in our flock... or Easter Eggers/Ameraucanas or barnyard mixes.

The breeds we already currently have:
Barred rock, Red Sexlink, Brown Leghorn, Olive Egger.

We've got particular interests in Marans (especially Copper and Lavender), Faverolles, and black chickens in general.

Anyone got pullets to hustle? We're in Oswego.

My current extra pullets are already on hold, waiting for their new owners to get a coop, etc. I'm starting to raise out chicks, some of which will be for started pullets. But unless I ended up with more than 30 pullets, they're already on hold as well! So, while I'd love to help you, there's probably others who'd be able to supply you faster, since I'm limited in pullet growing-out space until winter ends & I can put young ones out on pasture.

I do know @Chicken girl 15 has chicks that she's raising out, so perhaps she could help you in the pullet department.
