Okay Pyxis, those are gorgeous photos. If I had known you were going to post gorgeous photos, I would have staged mine nicer. You know, a real camera and grass instead of a cell phone and a muddy run.

Lol! I took pictures today until the camera died. I also got shots of my Calls.

I assure you, these are the result of taking A LOT of photos to get shots I liked, lol.

Oh my goodness!!! Such cute duckies!!!!
My youngest and I went to visit the ducks she hatched in her preschool class, her teacher lives down the road. We got to see the ducks, and the miniature horse that acts like a dog and wanders around the yard....but the coolest thing ever was the class turtle. In the summer the teacher releases it into her pond, and it comes when it's called. You stomp on the dock, call her name, and she swims over for a treat.

Since you've all seen what a mess my run has become in all this rain, here is a chick I hatched from Pyxis eggs. I'm thinking cockerel on this one.

I've saved a couple of silkies to cross to my frizzles. I don't have a frizzle roo so I had to save what I hope is a silkie.
OH NEARLY FORGOT, TSC is going to have chicks again soon. I don't know why they're going to sell chicks this late in the season. I don't need anymore. Lord knows I've been giving them away. Unless they're going to have something special I don't see this going over so well.

Well I was playing with my phone camera and caught a beautiful pic of my barred rock rooster strolling across the barnyard. Love my baby Bruno even tho he is no longer a baby. Still has lots of growing to do tho.

Hi Gramma, sorry to hear about your cat bite, glad to read later posts that the antibiotics have helped and its less painful.

Wow, I'm not very familiar with Frizzles, and would have no idea how easy or hard it would be to tell if they are male or female with all their feathers being unusual!

@rancher, I still have a little smile every time you mention having silkies after so many posts from you over the years explaining why you really don't like them!

Loving the posts with people putting up their chickens shots, the majority of mine are also taken on my phone, an ancient flipphone with a pretty awful camera in it, and its often at dusk too. However, over the years I have taken a few nice shots with my 'proper' camera. Actually use these few on cards I sell at craft shows. Here's a winter one of our Partridge Rock 'Honey' looking for bugs in the log pile,

and our Brown Leghorn 'Sylvia' who underestimated the depth of a snowdrift, love the way the winter light created such dramatic shadows

Finally, not that well in focus, and taken on my phone, but one of our original pair of chickens, Plymouth Rock 'Miss Pearl' who died last April, she loved to hop up on your lap and have a little chat, making her funny noises....
