New Country Organics Feed Buying Group?

Hello my fellow NY chicken lovers! Does anyone here feed their girls feed from them? I have been since mine were day olds in April. I love it and the girls love it. The problem is getting it here from Virginia. 50# bag price is not bad for non-gmo organic quality feed its the shipping which is almost the price of the bag. I inquired with the company and am able to set up a buying group through them to get a pallet of feed up this way pretty inexpensive. Also, Country Maxx has recently started to carry some of their products. I linked up with their customer service department and can do a buying group order through them as well. Pricing a few bucks more than ordering directly through New Country but the order would be able to be divided up and sent to each buyers preferred store to be picked up which is a huge perk.

I figured I would reach out here to see if any on here would like to join the group. If any one is interested or has questions, please let me know I can give you all of the details.

Happy New Year to all my chicken lovers, hope your girls are staying safe and warm in this frigid cold spell we have.

So, I picked a heck of a year to move farther North...

Hi NYCLs, I'm back on the Forum after a crazy summer and fall of buying my farmette /mini-farm/ 2⅓ Acres Paradise... Now under 5+ feet of yummy Lake Effect snow! (I moved from Binghamton to between Oswego & Syracuse)

Holy fajitas people! Anybody in North country that has some advice on how to deal with chickens in this much snow: please message me. I'm considering pulling them all into my workshop area in the garage until it gets reasonable the snow is up over the egg boxes where I have my chicken house and it's getting hard for me to get to it. Obviously is to move the closer to my house come spring & work on weather proofing ~ but right now I've got a dozen girls down there and the roo' is already in the laundry room with what I hope is a mild case of frostbite.

Thanks much and it's great to be back!

@CatMom welcome back. I’m slightly north of you in Harrisville and luckily just the other side of the snowbelt so I don’t get quite as much of the fluffy stuff as you. You guys got hammered last week.
I can’t give you any advice as I’m new to chickens too and still trying to figure this all out myself. All I can say about the snow where you are it might be wise to invest in a good lawn tractor with a snowblower attachment or like we use a four wheeler with a plow. It surely won’t be going to waste down there. I lived in Pulaski well going to nursing school in Syracuse and remember all the driving through snow storms.

Offering this 4 month old Silkie pullet free to a good home. She had gotten wry neck and sometimes still tilts her head. Some vitamin E clears itup. Anyone wanting this littlelady, please let me know. Pick uponly in NY.

What can I do about it? If i take down more of the plastic snow blows in.Dont take down anymore plastic ..if you have a Window in the Back and front open ...that is a draft not a Vent
I may have contributed to the frost also by putting them in the igloo dog house I leave it completely open and it has a hole in the top but maybe that is how they got so covered in frost. I thought they would be able to stay warmer in there. Do you think the igloo is a bad idea? No I dont ..Keeping it open with a hole on the top helps it vent . It is hard when there is so much cold .. Frost Builds up more ..esp on plastic ..it has no insulation
They are in the garage until this cold snap passes, the ladies are not happy with my make shift nest box or being in tight quarters but at least I know they are safe.
I would put the igloo in the garage for them . I think Your design is good ..it is just too cold right now .

Im afraid I am responsible For Cowboys Frost Bite on his wattles .
I had 2 water bowls in the coop one was heated one was not .
I was dumping the frozen Ice water into the heater bowl . I think he got Frozen water on his wattles and then went out side and then got frosted . Poor Guy .
If the swelling doesnt go down by tomorrow ..I think I may lance it so it drains Better
It is real uncomfortable for him He only seems to eat or drink when I hand feed him.
Gave him some Vitamins in his water and some Amoxicillin..in his food And triple Antibiotic on his wattles and he loved the fresh chopped tomatoes
