NY chicken lover!!!!

Hey everyone! Looking for your opinions on this.

My chicks are slightly different ages (1 week-perhaps 4 or 5 weeks?). One can definitely produce her own body heat and the mid-aged chicks I have seen to too.

They have actually been off the heat as any source of heat has been leaving them panting and hot. They don't scrunch up, and even the week olds are just doing chicken things.

My house is about 80 degrees in the room they are in - we are supposed to have temps in the 70s and 80s in CNY this weekend/next week.

Do y'all think they can go out during the warm days? I plan on bringing them in at night for a few weeks yet, but they're itching to get out of the broader and don't even have supplemental heat right now anyway.

Opinions?

When I hatch chicks I put them out in the coop at 1-2 weeks with their MHP for heat, once I know they are eating drinking and going under the heat plate. I started hatching in January and live in Northern NY. I think th older ones might be ok during the day and watch them because they are not acclimated to cool temperatures. They are not using the heat because your brooder room is way too hot, you will need to acclimate them to cooler temperatures. I keep my brooder room in the 50’s the week in the house, outside it was 30-40’s during day and 15- 20’s at night. Think about how broody raise a chick, they give them a warm place to warm up when needed but the chicks spend a lot of time exploring and learning to do chick things then just go for a warmup. This is a good article https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...and-start-raising-your-chicks-outdoors.71995/
