Pretty sure JP's North in Greenville is having a sale Sunday - not positive though. Google it. If there is, I'll be there with some boys also.

Yes, there is one on the 16th - just checked.

Hello Jen!!!
I've been selling my chicks and ducklings locally.......mostly through "word -of -mouth". I also put up a few posters in the local feed stores. Right now things are a bit slow....all the feed stores are inundated with multitudes of chicks and ducklings. When that "dries up" sales pick up greatly. I have nothing against the hatchery chicks/ducklings....but I DO have a degree of animosity from whence they came. When I sell any of my chicks and ducklings, it is ONLY to great homes.......and I know they leave my house happy and healthy. I care greatly for all of them, as I believe do most farmers......to me they are not simply a "commodity".
I'm so sorry to hear you(like a lot of people) were diagnosed with Lyme disease........that really stinks!!!! I wish you a speedy and complete recovery!!!! Guineas are well known for eating the offending ticks......and they're supposed to be excellent "watchdogs"!!! I posted a question on"hvchickens" about the next tailgate sale...but haven't gotten as response as of yet.....I'd really love to go!!!

Hi Kathy,
I just asked again about another tailgate sale, maybe someone will know...
I have seven young bantam boys & not easy to find a home! Most people want
girls :).

Take care ~~Jen~~

There's another auction in Bridgeport this Sat, and another on the 29th. I'm debating about going to Batavia, I just need a Drake.

I didn't actually buy much at the Bath auction, I missed the Buff Drake, darn it. I picked up a Blue Cochin hen, and a cage and thats about it. Stuff just went for insane prices, although chicks went for like nothing. I am sure it would have helped if they took some out of the boxes so people could see, or IDK, Read what people wrote on their boxes! I just do not get it. It takes what, a few seconds to read it? Then everyone benefits because stuff will sell for more! I thought about picking up some chicks, not that I need more chickens!

I wrote on my boxes, not that they read it, esp not on the rabbits. I had two show Quality NZ Black bucks sell for 1.50 each.... And I am sure that they would have gone for more if they hadn;t said they're "Black rabbits".

And aren't Meat Chickens supposed to just sit, eat and poop??? Mine kept escaping their pen and running around foraging... They still eat alot, but they don't seem to know they're meat chickens!

Phillbee-Thanks for the welcome! Our little Long Last Farm is actually in Scio, but I wanted to say Wellsville, since that is the closest "town". We came up to WNY from Virginia. WNY real estate is MUCH less expensive to raise some chickens and goats!
