Yeah I just heard about that also, but that is the city of Newburgh, we are the town so doesnt affect us. Well as of yet, as far as I know. I guess there were a lot of people using the roosters for fighting in the city, so thats why they were confiscating them.

Seems to me that sometimes the enforcers can't succeed or are to lazy to deal with "real" issues so they go after the lessers things to make it look like they've done something important.

Here in Syracuse it used to be a sort of joke at work to guess how many people got killed over the week end.

They can't handle "real" crime so they invent one and go after that.

War on drugs? What war, we don't see no war?

LOL I have a white Sizzle Roo, I guess I'll toss him in with the four Silkie hens for a bit. Two of them are sitting on eggs, so its not like I need a Roo for them right now. He has the wrong comb though, be interesting to see what I get out of that. He's also really really short, so fertility on his eggs is spotty at best, plus I have terrible luck with the Silkie eggs anyways. He hates to be penned up, and I'm worrying if I put him in the other cage, will his free range hens get picked off by something?

I have no idea what was wrong with him either, he looked fine, although he'd been off feed for a day or so.

I think the eggs under the Cochin pullet have all rotted too. You'd think at least the Broodys would know what the heck they're doing! I think they poo all over the eggs they're sitting on and it gets all nasty! I penned up some of them in cages so the other hens wouldn't keep adding eggs or chasing them out, and they still fail. Bleh.

My other Silkies decided, nah, lets not sit on these eggs again! Of course, by the time I noticed they'd changed their minds again, the eggs were cold and dead.

I gotta pull the Quail eggs out of the turner today, That bator spiked to 103, then whoops, 108 when I turned the stupid thing the wrong way! I'm sure its all dead, but we'll see.

I'm going to the Bridgeport auction tomorrow and then off to Binghamton to PU my new Cochins from Jamie Matts! I did sell a whole bunch of stuff already this week, so I have no idea what I am gonna bring to the auction, but I am sure there is something out there I don't need anymore!

Oh, I forgot to mention, I do have a Hovabator Still air for $25 if anyone needs it? Its the older style one with the wafer. I had to replace the adjustment screw with a long screw, so it does work, you just can't fart about with it once ya get it at the right temp. It seemed to hold temps pretty good this last batch, I just moved those duck eggs over to the other bator so I could hook up my new one.

If I knew how far away you were I might take it but after this last spring trying to sell chicks I'm not sure I will be hatching next year. Not to mention the broodies are going crazy and I had four or five this past spring. Got one sitting now and one who won't take no for an answer. If my Lavender Amer's were laying I'd let her have some of those eggs, but they ain't.

Was wondering if anybody in the Utica/Rome/Syracuse area have any SLW availble. I am still trying to build my flock and this is one of the breeds that I want. Not really picky if they are chick, started, or full grown. I am looking for Hens though. Hopefully someone knows where some are availble. Thanks alot.
