LOL I have a white Sizzle Roo, I guess I'll toss him in with the four Silkie hens for a bit. Two of them are sitting on eggs, so its not like I need a Roo for them right now. He has the wrong comb though, be interesting to see what I get out of that. He's also really really short, so fertility on his eggs is spotty at best, plus I have terrible luck with the Silkie eggs anyways. He hates to be penned up, and I'm worrying if I put him in the other cage, will his free range hens get picked off by something?
I have no idea what was wrong with him either, he looked fine, although he'd been off feed for a day or so.
I think the eggs under the Cochin pullet have all rotted too. You'd think at least the Broodys would know what the heck they're doing! I think they poo all over the eggs they're sitting on and it gets all nasty! I penned up some of them in cages so the other hens wouldn't keep adding eggs or chasing them out, and they still fail. Bleh.
My other Silkies decided, nah, lets not sit on these eggs again! Of course, by the time I noticed they'd changed their minds again, the eggs were cold and dead.
I gotta pull the Quail eggs out of the turner today, That bator spiked to 103, then whoops, 108 when I turned the stupid thing the wrong way! I'm sure its all dead, but we'll see.
I'm going to the Bridgeport auction tomorrow and then off to Binghamton to PU my new Cochins from Jamie Matts! I did sell a whole bunch of stuff already this week, so I have no idea what I am gonna bring to the auction, but I am sure there is something out there I don't need anymore!
