Hi There!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone out there in NY! I'm here in Johnstown, NY about six miles outside of town (Johnstown) at the foothills of the Adirondacks and about 40 plus miles West and North of Albany. I've been reading the site for over a year now but just decided to really get into the "Forum" in the last two weeks. I'm really trying to get into the other breeds of Chickies out there - they're like flowers to me - gorgeous and unique and just beautiful. Yes, I'm a CRAZY gardener and can hardly wait for this winter to break - it's been a doozy this year.

Ok, so we have chicks on order from Murray McMurray hatchery. They arrive in 90 days.

Got a coupon for 10% off order at TSC. They also had the best price on a 100 gallon water tank. (Brooder box.) So we go to TSC and get stuff for the other animals and some shirts on sale and .... oh my! There are some Buff Orpintons on sale for 1.99. Hmmmm - "Oh honey, shouldn't we get a couple "practice" chicks to make sure we have a handle on the chick thing before we get our order from MM?" DH says, "Well, we should get 5."

Ok course, as you all probably already know, the minimum is six. So now we have six new chicks upsetting the dog, tantalizing the cats and enchanting the people.

By the way, Hello out there in Johnstown! We need some "Dr. Green" here too!
