She wants them BAD!!!

And that hawk already knows where I live!!! I used to like hawks, till they started snacking on my silkies. You may need to tinfoil my house ------ the cuckoo silkies have enormous vaults -- even look weird to me & I like them!

Yeah, silkie roos will brood eggs, but it's because they're modern men, not sissies!

They try to take on the 14 pound Lav Orp boys in the next pen, because they want their women!!!

Not that they would be able to get up there!

BTW --- Mazeltov! Cookie's a mom!

2 out of 3 so far!

There's no such thing. SISSYS! FOO FOOS!

Na-na-nana-na!!!!! My silkie can kick your dellie's BUTT!!

Don't you even think of putting any silkie eggs in my incubator. These three I have all shaved and wearing camoflage. Mr. T and the A team.

tgrlily - I got the deprogramming team waiting for Cookie when she gets home. She'll only be drinking Holy Water for a month to drive those demon sillkies out of her system. One week with Nick and she'll remember what a REAL rooster is.

Oh please stop me now.

I almost choked to death on my soda!! You are TOO funny!! Cookie has converted to Judaism, so your Holy Water won't work!! HA! Nick, huh? Have you seen Rex? He is one big manly Dorking!!

Group hug! Here are my 37 chicks (+2 eggs still in bator, one pipped by me and hanging in there).. seven turkens, eight light brahma, two of my grey mutt chicks (EEXCochin), three (?) australorp and the rest are mysteries. I know some are SS, some are BLRW and some are mutts or ??. Anyone needs chicks just let me know, but keep your mitts off my turkens!

I was number 8. Don't recall the number of lots. I wasn't paying to much attention. They had turken/cross and those went for 5 I think or less and quail eggs they went for 5.50. Last time I got eggs there BR's they were dirty. I stuck them under two broodies and sold the chicks for a dollar ea on CL. Only could use ten of the twelve. I don't need chicks the house is full.

SUPPOSEDLY turkens do very well in both cold AND heat.. plus the eggs these hatched from were HUGE.

Just put an ad up on CL that some of you will probably see. If you see the one with the big preachy message about how you need to make sure you can take care of them, that's mine. Hee hee. Just letting 10 go to free up a little room since I hatched more than I thought possible. If anyone is wondering, two ecoglows work fine with 38 chicks, at least so far. Can't wait to see the new ecoglow 50. maybe I'll sell one of my smaller ones.

the turken they had before were hens and pairs for 6-8 each. they were beautiful and well cared for. were the turken cross chicks?
if you get there early enough i always look at eggs and open the cartons. have seen nice eggs there. going to be taking more eggs to sell next time. i like to sell enough to pay for my gas because its such a long haul. last time i got 18.00 for 4 runner eggs 5 call duck eggs and 2 silkie eggs in one carton. my eggs have been the only duck eggs so far. they actually gave me a check for too much money last time 180 dollars too much. i had to tell perry s wife. to fix it. the check they gave me was for 229.76 i was only suppose to get 85.00 after commission .
they had me for 11 cartons in stead of one carton. they had a new helper working computer next to perry. do you know what kind of quail? just hatch some button quail and i think i have a new addiction.

Featherz:

Just saw your CL add for the chicks - I am mighty mighty tempted to meet you for these if you still have them. My husband would probably kill me but I think I'd like some of your selection.

Also, I know Silkies have amazing mental powers but why is everyone out there CRAZAYYYYY about them in the "normal" world???? I put some on CL a couple days ago and was swamped with emails and calls - I had one person call me late in the evening - which they were very nice so I didn't mind but wow! I may have to buy some Silkie eggs from someone and hatch them because I'm down to two dark grey/black and everyone wants them too. The Splash and the pumpkin-y colored one with the black spots left within 24 hours! I had wanted to keep the four I had but decided too many chicks and those went....

Maybe I need to work on a different Silkie Sonnet????

You all are hysterical!!!! I have both Dellie babies and Silkie babies and let me tell you they all get along just fine. However, the Dels just step on the smaller ones but the Silkies mother them even at their tender age! I have got to have some silkies! Rancher I'll have to send you a photo of my lovely little Dellies - they are getting Monstrous even at 8-10 weeks! My cochin bantam roos just treats them like his kids and doesn't even pick on them at all - or any of the other little ones either. The littlest chicks are still in the house. Will post photos when I get a chance later today.

I was speaking to a really nice gal today who went to an auction in Schuylerville and picked up a box of various chicks that she just loves and is very happy with. She is looking for some Silkies so I may sell her mine if she's interested and then start over with some that are all the same age....sigh - I hear voices - I think they're Silkie
