There are quite a few of us in the Syracuse & outlaying areas both to the East & West.

Last week all my breeds were laying like crazy, and now, hardly anything except the blue laced red Wyandottes & Coronations...

Finally getting a couple of silkie eggs this week...so exchited to hatch my own now.

It is really nice area here . Im new to chickens. We have 3 Ameraucana's,3 Cornish. We got those chicks at TCS.Coming next week Barred Rock, Rohode Island Red and Leg horns. Thank you all for welcome me to the group.

all the rest of my meaties get to go to camp this weekend so I can separate out my Christmas Day RIRs (the Carols) and one rumpless Aracauna roo and the other keepers from the campers. Anyone want a Ameracauna roo or an EE roo? The EE will be a great roo, he is orange and white, part NH red, and starting to act like a protective gentleman like his daddy. I wish I had room to keep him, but I want the Aracauna, so...some one has to go to camp.

Gotta go spread the mulch on my flower beds before the snow/slush forecast for tonight. Got some seeds to plant. I really should not have gone to look at seeds while hungry, I probably got too many! Everything looked so good. Also starting an herb garden ... oregano, thyme, rosemary for starters. Have to go with containers this year, as we have too many trees to get good sun. Someday DH will cut down the trees I have been asking him to cut for lo these many years.

Hi, ho, hi ho, off to work I go...

If you got your "ameruacanas" at TSC they are not pure to breed...they are Easter Eggers....and THAT is wonderful. Easter eggers lay a greater variety of colors of eggs and more eggs than pure bred Ameruacanas (I learned the hard way)

Did you try Doug? I was just out there the other day, he's about a half hour ride-I'm in East Syracuse, closer to Bridgeport. He's a super nice guy and very easy to get along with and very knowledgeable, I recommend him!

Trish
Doug got in touch with me today! I'm going to get 3 silkies from him - a white, black and partridge! If he has extra when I go to get them then maybe I'll get one more but for now I'll start with the three. I'm soooooooo excited! He said he didn't mind holding 3 for me. I'm waiting on more details as to when some would be available for pick up. I told him I was looking for June but if they're young enough to keep in the brooder I can get them the end of May.

Thank you Trish!!!
