NY chicken lover!!!!

Don't be discouraged....keep going. The more you ride, the better your balance, the more comfortable you will feel. Honestly, most good trainers will start you off on a pokey horse, it teaches you how to use your leg. It also helps develop and strengthen your leg and they know that particular horse more than likely isn't going to run away with you. Are you learning in an arena, round pen, or on a longe?
Well that was the problem last week, I feel like whatever I was trying to do with my leg wasn't right, like I just couldn't get it. We always start in the round pen and then walk out into the arena.

Another crummy day here, I didn't let anyone out of their coop yesterday because it poured all day. Didn't need three chickens hanging out of the rain and on my porch leaving messes everywhere. It's sooooo foggy out this morning. Hopefully it'll clear up.

Another yucky day here too.....

Hi all! We are outside Rochester in Wayne County. New to Chix in April and are wayyy in love. Have Silkies, Barred, Americauna, Faverolle, Silver Laced and Reds. (apologizing for my spelling!) Question for you all, we have a large water feeder that hangs in the coop, how do you all prevent the nasty stillness in this? Should I try water additive if I am raining organic free range?

So after a series of unfortunate events, I need to downsize the flock by getting rid of the boys so I have less mouths to feed. I'll offer them up for free here first. I have a very big and beautiful black Oprington roo, good boy that talks to the girls, head roo in the flock but is not mean. He came from Annie (HappyhensNY) from a BBS quad. I have a black hen and blue hen from the same hatch, Tab and Trav have the splash. He is too nice to be dinner. Also have 2 GLW roos, they are the alarms of the flock and carry on if anything strange is happening. And have 2 Ancona roos, they are smaller than the other 3 so don't even show any roo behavior.

Lapeerian, sorry to hear that events have conspired to make you decrease your flock. My girls would shoot me if I brought another roo here, they are trying to train the ones that we have.

This rain is making me miserable and tired! Why couldn't we get any of this weather during summer this year?!? I'm going riding on Friday again, hopefully the weather is nice and I have a horse that wants to MOVE! LOL

OH REALLY? I'm leaving for AL tomorrow and if things don't go well this storm "Sandy" will suck all the cold into the area. I will not be happy. DO YOU HEAR ME? NOT HAPPY!

Well okay not AS happy.

Oh really? Clearly you did not read up on chickens or you might not have gotten Aliens. If they have not sucked out your brains by now they will. If they haven't please get those tin foil hats on asap.

Me and Nuttsy, keep ours on all the time just in case there are any Silkies in the area. In either case welcome to BYC. Your home away from sanity.
