NY Gay Pride Weekend

kem, let's face it, where ever people of any sort gather, there's going to be some of that going on. I have had to toss a couple young fully locked down teens off my lawn during one parade. It happens.

I THINK that if you stay in the more public wide open areas, most human gatherings are a little less xrated.

I also think that it's quite possible that when people see a young child, they stop doing their NC17 activities. Unless they're schnockered or it's a motorcycle hill climb....

I tend to agree with Welsummer on the idea that where ever there is a big gathering of people, in an informal situation, stuff happens.

I've been to the park on a summer afternoon and had to avoid picnickers who were "having dessert" in public, been to the local swimming hole and seen teens closer than siamese twins, I've been to free concerts and smelled funny tobacco. If there are lots of people gathered together, someone will be taking advantage.

I think if you are just watching the parade, you will see at most PG-13 activities.

My mother and I went to a Grateful Dead concert together many years ago.

She soldiered on past all the funny hair and clothes, and she soldiered on past the embracing hippies, AND she simply smiled when the folks started and then smiled and held up the peace sign upon seeing a little old grandmotherly type carrying a large purse and wearing an Alfred Dunner suit, heels, sheer stockings, pearls, a mink stole and Big Girl Earrings.

When we sat down and the smoke started to drift up, she said brightly, 'Is someone burning A ROPE?'

Yes, Mom, someone is burning a rope.

I won't get to really participate in the Pride Weekend outside my own celebration thanks to work and obligations, and definitely won't get to go where some of the best celebrations are due to funding issues. However, I went with some friends to walk around Nashville yesterday though wearing pride and support clothes and accessories before going to sing karaoke. Good times! Good times!

Have a great time!

I'm sure I don't believe what many of you do, or agree with most of your beliefs...in this area.

but I do believe in people...God bless, hope you all the best.

I totally missed that baby, thanks for the baby alert.

Has that relaxed, 'You may admire me now' look, LOL. What a cutie!

I do believe my mother also wore her leopardskin pillbox hat to that concert.....

I always thought her attitude was, 'If you can accept a little old lady in an alfred dunner suit at your concert, I can accept you, too'.

She was the most gracious lady I ever knew. No big fancy college education - she had a GED, but she knew how people worked. But I think she knew more and had more grace in her than anybody.
