San Francisco's Pride celebration is this weekend, too. I won't be going this year though- they're predicting rain AND I've got waaay too much to do in the backyard. Maybe next year.

To all those who are going out to celebrate, be safe and have fun!

It is fun. Dear love is very talented at those things. so is Wickednerd, actually. She hand made an exact replica of Xena's costume, did the metal work and everything.

Dear love did an exact replica of Ganidorfs costume, metal work and all. I'm jealous. I have been pushing them both to rent their talent out to make costumes for others, especially the gay performers who appreciate good work.

Seriously, you didn't need anyone to take you there. Just start talking to someone and next thing you know you are part of their posse and they are giving you make-up tips and what not to wear info. My friend Philip can pick out my shoes better than I can.

not all gay men are great dressers. most gay people are no different than any other person. Most people would never know I'm bi, especially since I am with a man. My guy is hetero and he likes doing a lot of "female" type stuff.

I despise shopping, he likes it, He loves to cook, make costumes, dress up, sew, and he gets whims where he decorates.

but then i do that too

I despise shopping. That is why all my clothes are too big for me now. I need to hit up a couple friends to go shopping fo rme.

i usually need someone with me to keep me motivated while shopping too!

unless it is at a tool , farm, or garden store, then i can stay there all day

Most of these pride events are so much fun and so busy and so much to see that you'll remember it for years to come. But be sure to take pictures if you have time, LOL!

No, a person doesn't have to be LGBT to go, we've been to a couple and had a wonderful time!

Just dress it up, stand up, and keep on walkin'!

When my son was about 2 or 3, a friend took my him to the San Diego gay pride parade. He had a ton of fun and came home with a blow up pink flamingo. It was very cute.

I have a question, and it's just a question. If it's out of line, I will gladly edit it off of here. My husband used to work security and he worked a parade once where he said there was a lot of really inappropriate stuff going on. I don't want to go into details, but is that kind of thing prevalent or does it just happen every once in a while? My husband's idea of inappropriate and mine can be very different, especially on this subject, but the things he suggested would garner an NC-17 or higher rating in a movie. I had a hard time believing him because I just don't think my friend would have taken Riley if it was like that.

I'll be going to the parade in Chicago with friends.
I lived just blocks from the parade route there for over 30 years, now I have to commute.

Not gay myself, but lots of close friends & I support equality for EVERYONE!
