This past November I remember flipping the channels during a quiet moment and I came across Bush giving a Thanksgiving turkey a Presidential Pardon and I thought it was nice that The President was giving attention to the younger people. Plus, it was sweet.

For me, having the President address children on education, studying, working hard, planning and achieving goals and working together as a community is a positive thing.

It's only going to be 15-20 minutes long. Hopefully kids of all ages will retain something of it.

Because it's Obama. Either because he's a liberal, or because he's bi-racial, "not American", "Muslim", whatever reason. But what it comes down do is because it's Obama.

Please stop making this a race or religious issue, it is downright shameful to play those cards.

I didn't make it a race or religious issue. People in this thread have insinuated or flat out said they're distrusting of him because of his diverse background and upbringing. THAT is making is an issue of race or religion.

And those are not the only factors mentioned. Many people feel Obama is objectionable because he doesn't hold their same political ideals, and I think it's a shame something like that is getting in the way of such a good message.

I wonder how long it will take for a study to be done on which schools, in which states did and did not show it.

Will it show a trend or a pattern that matches the Rep/Dem demographics in any way?

But, in the school dist. around here PE is a joke now. When I was in school, we really had to do stuff, and shower and the whole nine yards. Now, they set and do other things in study halls and stuff because the teacher lets the students make the call. I am not saying EVERY school, but I know one is like that . . .

and let's face it, if your kid is in a public school, it might not be celebrities making the vote, but high school is nothing more than a popularity contest, and kids are "coerced" into voting for the seniors, or for the most popular cheerleader or the football hero . . .sorry, but the celebrities in that video might be promoting Obama, but we MUST teach our kids they have a brain and to use it, not to be fooled into thinking just because so and so who did that GREAT adventure movie says something is good and right, to believe it. We can't drop the ball as to having open family discussions about anything and everything with our kids just because we are upset about the way the Hollywood scene does things. I get sick when I see some of those people out with their kids, and 3 nannies in the background. . .so I don't pay a bit of attention on their ideas of raising children.

Tyranny knows no color, no race, no gender, no creed. Hitler was white, or has everyone forgotten? Certainly never stopped anyone from saying he was in the wrong.

If you feel the need to bring bigotry into the picture, then it's you that deems race important. Reverse racism is the inability to call a spade a spade due to the fact that said spade is black.

Indeed but we were also stuck with Bill Clinton far longer after the dung hit the fan. We are always stuck with the candidate the electroal college puts into office.

i dont care for obama, but i think people are really looking to be offended by him. i doubt this school thing has any ulterior motives.
