Xyla looked at him with an amused expression, smiling at her title, before asking "Jazz? I guess I do..." Why would he ask that question? She asked "Why, do you?" She didn't know where this was heading at all, but she let it go there.
"Uh... no." He said. Then sat there for a moment, screaming internally.
The parrot eyed them from a distance. This conversation was getting awkward. Typical Neo. He considered the situation. He could swoop in and start something. Or he could just sit back and watch the show.
"I'll, uh... help you get home." He said. Should he try to carry her? It didn't look like she could walk. Or even crawl. He put one arm around her back, praying that he wouldn't get slapped. Or worse, stabbed.
Oh! Thought the bird. Now this was going to be fun to watch.

Erin was extremely honest, responding "Yes. I have no teacher and my parents cast me out with no training, so I don't have many other options." Yael seemed like the type of person who wouldn't take the time to train her, so that's why she didn't think of Yael as an option for a mentor.
Yael was about to kick her out when she stopped short as she looked over at a thick brown feather laying on a shelf by itself. She walked over to it and picked it up turning to show it to the girl. " this belonged to my mentor, I plucked it from his corpse before burning his body. He took me under his wing and taught me what I know, how to survive." She said before putting it on the shelf again. " I am not him, this world is harsh and few will bare you any kindness. But it you like I will teach you what I know. It will give you a start, it is how I will honor the man who taught me." She finished before giving the girl a hard look. She may come to regret it, she wasn't much for company, but it was done.

Xyla squirmed at his touch. She didn't know him at all. But then again, how else was she going to get home? She relaxed her back, a silent message that it was ok. She looked up into his eyes, asking if she could trust him without even opening her mouth, using a look instead.

(Oh yeah? Well what if I get him first?)
( well considering he's a guard and I'm not planning any characters yet I think youd probably get to him first. Lol unless there is some run in between him and Yael, and he happens to like her type of lady. Lol I think my chances are slim. )
